It is a sin for me not to celebrate this man on my blog! Arts/film journalist and cultural worker, Shaibu Husseini who report on arts and movies for Nigeria's flagship newspaper "The Guardian" published daily in Lagos, Nigeria's former capital city, was recently presented with a special recognition award at the 10th Abuja International film Festival which closed on September 27. The award was in recognition of his contribution to the growth and development of the festival and the Nollywood industry as a whole.
"He thanked the organizers for the award and dedicated the award to his mentor Jahman Anikulapo, who provided the platform which he still use to write on, around and about Nollywood. His employers for their understanding, players of Nollywood for their steadfastness, His friends on the Arts Desk of the flagship and to his dear wife Ruth who has held forth even when he had to make those impossible trips all in the name of 'service to the Nollywood industry'.
Honourable Kalejaiye Adeboye Paul a.k.a KAP, who produced the award winning movie Married But Living Single starring Funke Akindele and Joseph Benjamin) who presented the award to me on behalf of the organizers spoke 'nicely' about Shaibu Husseini's person before the presentation.
Event held at the Silverbird Cinemas Abuja, Nigeria.
Congratulations Sir.
