Two people have been killed and four severely injured in an attack by unidentified gunmen in Chanchu village, Kaduna state, North West Nigeria.
A yet to be identified man and his four year-old son were shot dead by the gunmen, while the injured are receiving treatment at a nearby hospital in the village.
Kaduna state Police Commissioner, Olufemi Adenaike, who confirmed the attack to Channels Television, said the attack was carried out by suspected Fulani herdsmen, who attacked the village with AK47 rifles.
He however insisted that only one person was killed while more policemen and soldiers have been drafted to the area to restore and maintain law and order.
