Suspected killer local gin, otherwise known as “ogogoro,” has reportedly killed two persons in Okolore, Kwale axis, Delta State.
NE recalls the federal government recently placed a ban on the drink after it killed dozens in Port Harcourt and other places.
It was gathered that the two persons died at the weekend by a bush path to the farmlands in the area after they both were said to have taken “two shots” of the drink allegedly prepared with herbs. The deceased, (names withheld) middle-aged, were known drinkers in the community.
Family sources said the duo were related, and were never been married.
Acting police spokesman in the state, ASP Uwuigbe Nosakhare, said the police were investigating the circumstances surroundings of their deaths.
He also revealed that the police detectives in Kwale had uncovered hideout for homosexuals and arrested the operator of the joint located near the T-Junction in the community.
