The Emir of IIorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Zulu-Gambari on Saturday urged Nigerians to continue to show love towards one another to guarantee peace and development in all fields of human endeavour.
The emir made the call in his palace in Ilorin while turbaning two prominent indigenes as high chiefs.
“Nigerians should love one another and shun acts capable of causing misunderstanding among ourselves.
“Let us continue to remain an indivisible entity for more social and economic progress to be achieved,” the Emir said.
The monarch, who noted that no development could take place in an atmosphere of rancour and acrimony, advised Nigerians to be their brother’s keeper at all times.
Zulu-Gambari advised the new high chiefs to work for continuous tranquility in the emirate, Kwara and the nation.
Those turbaned were the former Secretary to the Kwara Government, Alhaji Shehu AbdulGafar, as Dan-Madami of IIorin, and Alhaji Usman Mustapha as Wali of IIorin.
This followed the death of the former Dan-Madami of IIorin, Alhaji Adebayo Alaya and former Minister of Defence, Alhaji Mahmud Oniyangi, who until his death was the Wali of IIorin. (NAN)
