Nine Adamawa delegates to PDP convention die in car crash












The accident occurred Sunday morning, and most of the victims were youth members.



At least nine members of the Peoples Democratic Party, returning from the party’s special convention in Abuja, have died in a car accident along Abuja-Jos highway.





Immediate reports from Kafanchan in Kaduna state said about nine youth were confirmed dead after the bus they were travelling in was involved in a fatal car crash.



The Federal Road Safety Corp later confirmed the crash.



The FRSC said the accident about 38 km from kafanchan on the Kafanchan -Forest route, at past 8am on Sunday and that it involved two vehicles, a Volkswagen Salon with reg no RAN 107 SA and a Toyota Hiace bus registered XA 399 SHR.



The corp said that crash left nine persons dead and another nine injured. Victims were taken to Genearal Hopital, Kafanchan



The bus was ferrying the contingent of the Adamawa state’s PDP youth leader.



We also gathered that many others are injured, three of whom have been evacuated to the Federal Orthopedic Hospital Kano because of the degree of their fractures.

Although details are still sketchy, PREMIUM TIMES learnt that the accident occurred early morning on Sunday. The Bus was ferrying the contingent of the state’s PDP youth leader.



We also gathered that many others are injured, three of whom have been evacuated to the Federal Orthopedic Hospital Kano because of the degree of their fractures.



The bodies of the dead and other injured persons were taken to Kafanchan Hospital by rescue officials.
