Heavily armed masked gunmen stormed Saminaka town and attacked two commercial banks and communities in Saminaka in Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State, northern Nigeria, Friday.
NE learnt that the gunmen numbering over twenty, shot sporadically in the air to scare security men away before they attacked the two commercial banks in Saminaka town, killing three persons suspected to be guards at the banks.
An eyewitness also told NE that after robbing the banks and carting away undisclosed amount of money, they moved to the surrounding houses.
He said the masked armed robbers moved from one house to another beating victims and carting away huge sums of money. A resident of Saminaka town told NE that the gunmen killed three people suspected to be security men attached to the banks.
When contacted to confirm the incident and killing of security men at the banks, Kaduna State Police Commissioner, Femi Adenaike, said he was on his way to the area and will give the information needed if he gets the full details of the attack.
