Jonathan unveils Nigeria’s first unmanned aerial vehicle

President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday unveiled Nigeria’s indigenous unmanned aerial vehicle codenamed GULMA, an Hausa word for “gossip.”

The President also supervised the winging of 11 indigenously-trained unmanned aerial vehicle pilots at the 333 Logistics Group Hangar, Nigerian Air Force Base, Kaduna.

In his remarks, Jonathan described the feat by the Nigerian Air Force as another landmark moment in the nation’s history.

He said the achievement clearly showed that with hardwork and diligence, barriers could be broken.

He assured the NAF of Federal Government’s support for this and other research projects.
