Mel B reveals she experimented with women 'for a few years'... but never considered herself a lesbian

Mel B has revealed that she experimented sexually with women over the course of several years - but now dismisses it as little more than a phase.

The former Spice Girl, 39, has been linked to a number of women since rising to fame in the 1990s, but she says that she's now more than satisfied with her husband of seven years, Stephen Belafonte.

Making an appearance on TV's Alan's Carr: Chatty Man, she spoke with the host about heterosexual women who had become lesbians, admitting: 'Yeah. I was one of those for a few years.'

Pressed by Alan Carr on whether she was a lesbian, Mel added: 'I would not call it that. I was just one of those ladies. Now I'm happily married.'

And while she may no longer hold any lingering physical feelings for her fellow females, she did speak affectionately about fellow X Factor judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini.

The mother-of-three cooed: 'She is such a lovely girl, and man has she been through a lot, a lot - and it's all been on public display.

'She's just solid and true, and she's gorgeous, nice to talk to, she's not bitchy at all - trust me, if she was bitchy, she'd be on the floor. I'd 'ave her.'

Host Alan jokingly cut in: 'Later, we've got mud wrestling with Mel B and Cheryl!'

Mel responded: 'That'd be quite hot, I'd like to do that. No, but she's really become a good friend of mine, I value her opinion outside of work, and we text each other, it's nice.'

Leeds native Mel also revealed her naughty side during the interview, admitting she wasn't wearing any underwear and likes to doodle rude pictures while filming The X Factor.

She said: 'I do drawings of stuff that get me into trouble a lot. I show it off to Cheryl and she laughs and I show it to Louis and he goes, "Wow, yeah." I will have to ban myself from having paper now as you now all b***dy know.'

During her time on the Channel 4 show, Mel also recalled the time she found herself having a conversation with a half-naked Simon Cowell in his dressing room.

The curvaceous star said: 'His dressing room is stunning. It is like what Liberace would have. He has got a bath, it is gorgeous.

'I was sitting there with a cup of tea and he walked out of his bathroom with his towel on and he said, "Oh, hello darling, I have just come out of the bath."

'I said, "Can we talk about the show please?" He just sat there in his towel.'
