Stop demanding political favours from Buhari, MASSOB tells Igbo groups

The splinter group of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has told the various Igbo groups in the country to stop demanding political favours from President Muhammadu Buhari, arguing that no amount of pressure would make the president change his mind in view of his alleged dislike of the Igbo nation.

The movement’s director of information, Mr. Uchenna Madu listed the Igbo groups that have been calling for political recognition and agitating for appointments to include Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo, Ohaneze Youth Council, political, traditional, religious leaders, among others.

In a statement in Awka Wednesday, Madu described Igbo people as the architect of their political humiliation in President Buhari’s administration because of what he termed “their individual selfishness, personal ego and lust of money.”

The statement read: “President Buhari is very right in relegating Igbo to their current political status in Nigeria. Some Igbo political, traditional, religious, market and youth leaders blindly bagged their egg of political and economical future in Nigeria in a fragile, demoralized and unsteady leader called Jonathan Goodluck, who glaringly crashed heavily with the Igbo political and economical eggs.

“President Buhari is just paying Ndi-Igbo back in their own coin as they did not vote for him or his party, the APC because the Igbo men openly and shamefully campaigned for Goodluck Jonathan who politically deceived them.

“As it stands, many Igbo leaders will continue to blindly wallop in Nigeria’s political wilderness until they rediscover the courage of Ojukwu as enshrined in the spirit of Biafra’s consciousness and the unrelenting and undeterred spirit of no retreat, no surrender.”
