Gabrielle
Union has spoken out during a women's conference in New York City about
the recently nude photo hacking scandal that targeted dozens of famous
celebrities - herself included.
During
Cosmopolitan magazine's Fun Fearless Life conference, the 42-year-old
actress said she found out the day after her August 30 wedding to Dwyane
Wade that more than 100 female stars had been hacked, according to an
article on Sunday by The Hollywood Reporter.
Nude
photos of Gabrielle were not in the initial batch that included private
photos of Jennifer Lawrence, Kirsten Dunst and Kate Upton among other
big names.

Gabrielle
said she was on a 'family-moon' with Dwyane and his children three weeks
later when she found out nude photos of her had been leaked online.
'In the moment, I froze. I was mortified, terrified,' Gabrielle told Cosmopolitan editor-in-chief Joanna Coles.
'I
just didn't know what to do. I felt I had given so much of myself, but I
had saved a little bit for myself and for my husband, and they had
taken that from me,' she added.
Defending her right to take the photos in the first place for her own personal use, she stated: 'I didn't do anything wrong.
'No matter
what people describe to me, "It's your fault, you're stupid to take nude
photos, that's what happens when you're a celebrity" - all this
nonsense... they're criminals.' she continued.
'What
you do with your own body is your choice. Period. There's no grey
matter there. And when someone takes your choice away and your power
away over your own body, it's a crime. Period. A hacking scandal? We're
lessening it, making it more palatable for mass consumption, but it's a
crime.'
She
acknowledged being nervous about telling her 'super Catholic' mother,
but said that she responded by saying they'd been 'through so much
worse, and we're fine.'
The Bring It On star said people she felt would have a 'negative reaction or blame me in some way' surprised her.
'Everyone that I love and respect looked at it for what it is, which is a crime,' she said.
After the scandal broke she was even comforted by celebrity photographers upon arriving at an airport.
'When the paparazzi says it's messed up, [it's messed up]!,' Gabrielle said.
Gabrielle
said she has contacted the FBI about the matter and said she believed
there would have been more outrage if the victims weren't celebrities.
Recently married: Gabrielle is shown
with Dwyane Wade in August shortly before their wedding in Florida and
talked on Sunday about his support following the nude photos hacking
scandal
She also criticised tech companies for not doing more to address the situation and singled out Google and Apple for criticism.
'We
have to, as consumers, ask that our data be protected, and the
companies we give our money to are equally as invested in our privacy as
we are,' she said.
Kelly Osbourne, 30, also spoke at the two-day conference that wrapped up on Sunday at the Lincoln Center in New York City.
The television personality had her bright purple hair up and wore a half-sleeved blue coat with matching knee-length skirt.
